Before we start this week’s newsletter I want to send a special congratulations to Tara Jones, who has been part of our team since early 2023 and has been promoted to the role of Content Operations Manager.
Tara and I have known each other for years and she was the first employee I hired at my consulting company. This new role puts her in position to be the primary day-to-day manager for dozens of branded content campaigns we produce each month for our clients, owning communication, creation and quality for the product we create. Happy for Tara and for our many clients who work with her!

Now on to this week’s newsletter which will be about simple but effective ways media companies are working with us and how you could take advantage of similar opportunities:
Let us review your branded content & write it
How it works: Through our Branded Content Studio, we’re able to review your current program and evaluate what you’re doing (how you price, package, distribute, create content) and make a host of recommendations in a document we’ll review with you and then help implement those changes. If you don’t have a program, we have all of the tools to put one together for you.
In addition we provide the following services:
• Writing the content for a campaign, which includes brainstorming with the client, writing and getting the article approved. This process also includes optimizing the story for SEO and making social media suggestions for this story.
• Creation of Reels based on the sponsored content story.
• Creation of reports showcasing the highlights of a campaign for an advertiser. In addition, we’re able to provide a 60-second video breaking down the campaign for the client.

Solve your SEO challenges & biggest questions
How it works: If you’re seeing drops in users and page views or wondering what you need to do today to succeed in search, we’ve got a program that can really help. Our SEO Boost program evaluates your technical issues, goes through optimization best practices (we teach all of the backend tips) and really centers our efforts on how to write content that is Google-friendly.
Specifically we put a lot of focus into a Generative Engine Optimization strategy that focuses on:
• How to find questions that readers have (using keyword tools)
• How to answer those questions (format, approach, headlines)
• How to work this kind of storytelling into your workflow
Here are two recent examples from our clients: One that answers questions that kids ask parents and another that provides answers that are more for news topics.

A 4-month program that guides you through how to grow audience and create more revenue
How it works: We’ve learned that there are really four areas that publishers need the most help with when it comes to growing audience and we have developed solutions in each of these that we work on over a four-month period:
• Planning and organization: We’ll review how you are planning content, scheduling and your evaluate overall content plan to make sure it’s optimized for today’s readers using the best planning tools possible.
• SEO: We’ll address many of the items noted in our SEO program like technical and content audits. We’ll review headlines on an ongoing basis and stories that have been written for GEO.
• Social media: We’ll talk about strategy here but we’ll quickly shift to an audit and then help you put together content (including Reels). This part of the program helps establish revenue opportunities in social media, including packages specifically for this platform.
• Newsletters: We’ll review your lineup, subject lines, how newsletters are being structured and the most contemporary ways to sell advertising into newsletters.
What’s unique about this service is that it’s not just consulting, it’s content creation for you in places that fill gaps. All of these services are offered as a la carte as well.

AI training and workflow guidance that gets your team implementing the best tools
How it works: We provide a two-track AI training program (editorial and sales) where we introduce teams to the opportunities and challenges, tools and prompts that they can use. From there, our program turns into workflow meetings with individual departments where we center in on the areas they need the most help with and agree on prompts and solutions to try out.
At the conclusion, teams leave with a set of actions that they agree to use across different parts of their organization. For example, a sales team may agree that they will use AI to prospect for every major theme they’re trying to sell. Or an editorial team may agree that all newsletters will be summarized going forward using AI.
